Drzemka

Ricardo is back in office after more than two weeks of holidays. It’s not easy to accept the obligation of sitting in the chair or going to the bank during all nine working hours after such a long break without thinking back on an old Spanish custom, now eliminated in most of the offices - siesta. Ricardo is missing it so much, that he had to look the word up in the international dictionary. His first-time pronunciation of the Polish version was very good: drzemka, the following ones being less superb. The Swedish tupplur was not an easy one either. But it was nothing compared to that time when all the office tried to pronounce the Polish name Ździsław…….

The Tough Alliance

Grattis alliansen and welcome to give us a better Sweden....... we want to share the employment rate of our Danish neighbours, their salaries and price for tuborg, carsberg and fuglsang....... Not only the price of it, but give us the beer itself and let pripps manufacture cheap (blåbärs-)soda. Give us better education, Russian mathematics competence, sufficient research fundings and stimulative business climate! The Tough Alliance - Make it Happen!

Barcelona or Scandinavia: try to decide by weather

Back on my spot in Barcelona. Yesterday night we had tremendously heavy rain, could be worst than I’ve ever seen in northern Europe. According to my colleagues, the weather has been such most of this week. Oddly, the Danish weather was much summery yesterday… Global warming? Spanish autumn I think!

We have got a new coffee machine in the office. It’s black and shiny and looks a bit more modern than its predecessor. The improvements are the possibility to make cappuccino (unused) and choice of coffee cup instead of the stepless stop-it-yourself-as-you-feel-for-it regulator. The coffee itself tastes the same – automatic.

Kastrup

Testing the wireless connection at Kastrup. It works perfectly, but I’m tired and don’t know what to write. Very positive: I’ve got my stand-by ticket changed for a seat and am finally on my way back to Barcelona. I’ll certainly try to take a nap on the plane and continue reading the book “Latin”, that amused me on the flight StockholmCopenhagen. I needed that amusement. Well, both Malmö and Copenhagen are beautiful, especially during this time of year and Barcelona, of course, has its own beauty. Nice to have a peace of it all! Boarding time! Let’s get some more of that sun!
